The patented StoreFloor loft storage system consists of only 3 parts: The metal Cross-Beams, which you screw the boards on to, and the recycled plastic Tri-Supports and Uni-Supports, which screw into your joists and carry the load.
Unlike cheaper loft boarding kits, this system is the safest and most straightforward solution to the prevalent problem of storing items in a fully-insulated loft is to install a raised floor above the insulation. The LoftZone StoreFloor is a lightweight, low cost, an easy-to-install and very strong platform for storing items and walking on while protecting the 270mm loft insulation and allowing it to save energy and cut fuel bills as intended.
The Cross-Beams make the raised deck safe to walk upon. Beams are the only reliable way to support loft boards, and allow you to avoid certain obstructions on joists such as pipes or wiring. Other leg or stilt products are unable to do this; this is unique to this attic boarding kit.
One common problem when boarding an attic is irregularly spaced beams. The Cross-Beams slide along the top of the Tri-Supports. Without this, the boards may not reach the next joist and will be unsafe.
StoreFloor is much lighter and faster than using timber to raise the loft floor, and is a better insulator too – keeping your heating bills down.
StoreFloor leaves an air gap underneath the boards, to prevent condensation.
(Note that some other raised loft products aren’t tall enough for this essential feature)
StoreFloor is easier and cheaper to fit than rigid insulation, and doesn’t contain chemicals which damage electrical cables, unlike most rigid insulation materials.
